ALEX'S LEMONADE STAND
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF) emerged from the front yard lemonade stand of cancer patient Alexandra “Alex” Scott (1996-2004). In 2000, 4-year-old Alex announced that she wanted to hold a lemonade stand to raise money to help find a cure for all children with cancer. Since Alex held that first stand, the Foundation has evolved into a national fundraising movement with thousands of supporters across the country carrying on her legacy of hope.
Love Your Melon is proud to have worked with ALSF for the fifth year in a row because we share a dedication to supporting top-notch pediatric cancer research. To date, we have supported Alex's Lemonade Stand with $570,000. Our previous funding has directly supported programs like their Young Investigator Program and 12 POST grants, the Childhood Cancer Data Lab (CCDL), which collects all childhood cancer data into one database for easier access for researchers across the world, and the Clinical Trials Navigation Program, which helps initiate a detailed trial search and determine baseline eligibility to discuss with families.
At the end of 2020, we gifted Alex's Lemonade Stand with $100,000 to support the Crazy 8 Initiative, a program dedicated to detailing the roadmaps to cures for high-risk childhood cancers using the eight key areas of need identified by 90 top scientists and researchers around the world. At the end of 2021, we gave another $100,000 to support this initiative.
We are honored to be able to continue to support Alex's Lemonade Stand and continue to make an impact on the lives of children and families battling cancer.
