St. Baldrick's Foundation

St. Baldrick's Foundation is the largest private funder of childhood cancer research grants. To date, the Foundation has granted more than $234 million to some of the most brilliant childhood cancer research experts in the world. Through head-shaving events and partnerships, they are able to provide the funds necessary for innovative research across the United States and the world.

Love Your Melon was proud to give the St. Baldrick’s Foundation $150,000 to fund Ewing's Sarcoma research led by Dr. David Lombard at the University of Michigan. Ewing's Sarcoma is a cancer that arises in bone and soft tissue of children and young adults, which is fatal if untreated. While often successful, therapies for Ewing's Sarcoma have severe long-term side effects for survivors. Dr. Lombard's research tested a new means of treating Ewing’s Sarcoma.
