Chef Lucas Foods Update

Chef Lucas Foods is an organization that provides meals and smiles for children and families battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. At the age of 12, the founder, Lucas, was diagnosed with stage 3(b)(s) Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Inspired by those who provided his family meals while he was undergoing treatments, and after watching the movie Chef, Lucas set out to help families going through the same thing he did.

We have supported Chef Lucas Foods since 2017 and have funded programs such as their Bustaurant program including an ice cream trailer! This mobile restaurant enables Chef Lucas and his team to impact families with meal experiences all over the country as well as serve larger events to benefit Chef Lucas Food and other organizations dedicated to the fight against pediatric cancer.

During Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month this past September, Chef Lucas was nominated as a Hormel Foods 10 under 20 Food Hero! This award recognizes 10 individuals under the age of 20 across the country who have found ways to feed those in need and demonstrate that anyone can make a difference in the world.

To celebrate, Chef Lucas went to the Ronald McDonald House in Minneapolis, MN to deliver pizzas to families in their new pizza truck sponsored by Love Your Melon.

At the age of 17, Lucas has already finished all of his high school requirements and is currently in culinary school full time at St. Paul College for his senior year. Lucas is going to be a certified chef at 19. It has been amazing to see Lucas’ journey and what the power of good food can do.

Your support helps us continue to fund nonprofits like Chef Lucas Food that make a difference for children and families battling cancer across the country. Thank you.
